BIOGRAPHY – Jonathan Ryland

Mortuary

Jonathan trained at the Lear College of Mortuary Sciences under the direction of Terry Knight and gained the trustees award for having received the highest marks in the theory examinations for that year from the British Institute of Embalmers (B.I.E.), (Lon 1990). He is a member of the B.I.E. He has successfully completed specialized instruction on facial lacerations, waxing and cosmetics under John Davis. Jonathan attended a course on post-mortem reconstructive surgery by Dr John Chew. Jonathan is a member of Kenyon’s Emergency Service and worked at the scene of the Boxing Day tsunami in Asia in 2004/5 and was in Haiti attending to the mass earthquake in 2010.

Funeral Directing

Jonathan studied at the Westminster College of Funeral Directing, gaining his Diploma there (DIP FD), Lon 1990. He became a member of the British Institute of Funeral Directors (LMBIFD), Sheffield 1990, and is a holder of a Post-Graduate Diploma in Counselling from the University of Durham (2003) and is a member of The British Association of Counseling and Psychotherapy (MBACP 2018).
